1. Westell DSL modem directly connected to PC - Internet connection is
working

3. Connect router to PC, DSL modem to WAN port on router, enter user name
and PW into wizard when prompted.
4. Wizard completes but cannot get internet connection. Router lights are
showing normal except for the Internet connection light which is blinking
(meaning no connection).
5. Manually check router settings. PPPoE selected, correct user name and
PW are entered, still no internet.
6. Disconnect router and re-connect only Westell DSL modem, internet
works.
As far as I can tell from reading on the DSLreports forums and Westell
web sites, the DSL modem is a basic modem operating in bridged mode. No
DHCP or other router functions built-in. Is there something I am missing
getting a router to work with a DSL modem? Is the Westell too old to work
properly with a router?
