Almost all Dell poweredges with DLT/LTO units ship with an adaptec 29160. Very little problems I've seen. I've never seen a powervault on a PERC, those are really intended for RAID arrays although in theory any SCSI device should work.

Subject: [H] SCSI Card suggestions

OK, we picked up a set of Dell DLT1 Powervaults cheap. We did so to deploy
a few to set locations; however, I'm unsure of what SCSI Card/Cable to
recommend to go with these.. since these are external LVD/SE devices, I
could us regular LVD card and run the internal LVD connection external with
a bracket; but I'm still looking for specific ones to recommend.

Right now, in the box one will be connected to is a Dell PERC3, which we
could use, we have the cable to go from one to the other; but I'm unsure if
that's something I want to do either.

Any recommendations for card/cable combination for a single purpose device?
Ie, nothing else will be attached but this as an external unit.
