Intel retail desktop boards have metal clips on the ends of their supplied 
SATA cables. They now snap in more firmly.

Indeed, IMO its a moot point as the SATA power connections are the weak 
spot
by a million miles.

I'd be much happier relying on a molex connection than a SATA power
connection....1 of them is actually robust :)

I always use the molex connectors on my drivers (other then in my SATA RAID
array as the caddies automatically use the SATA connector) although I
beleive some drives now only have that crappy SATA power connector :(
