Good lord, I've avoided this thread for a while, because it just drags on and on and on.
Let me say this: The problem in Iran, and most of the middle east is serious as it relates to treatment of other human beings. What has happened in numerous areas of the world is that religious zealots of all forms - not just islam - take their faith so seriously that they use it as an oppressing hammer to beat the piss out of people. I would say something very offensive, but the reality is, the entire area needs to be modernized in a monumental way in regards to it's treatment of women. Hell, instead of War, for as much as I dislike MTV, I'd try to pop up as many pirate TV stations and drop as many hot-looking chicks to walk around the streets in good looking outfits as possible. I'm semi-convinced those people just need to get some action and calm the hell down. This has nothing to do with any political power or thought, it just has to do with the reality of how people are treated. I am sick of the argument "we play by different rules, it is religiously based" Yeah, that argument hasn't worked over the millenniums. If it did, people would be OK with Greeks killing third-born sons as a sacrifice to the gods. The middle east is not alone in incredible problems of human rights violations; Haiti, areas of South America, etc. are also bastions of problems. Using people as "mules" for drugs, routine killings, etc. But the difference is, in South America and elsewhere at least no one in the government comes out and seemingly condones catch phrases calling for the abolition of anyone else. Now, VERY VERY Offensive (lots of language), and only up for a short time, but take it only as HUMOR not political meaning: http://www.kctechheads.com/nedmpc.mp3 Here, you have a redneck talking trash. The beauty of it is, even though his viewpoint matches absolutely no one I know, people here can hear it and laugh about it. I think the middle east needs a much better sense of humor regarding faith, and to get laid a bit more often, and then things could settle down some ;) Thanks SIRIUS :) CW >And thank YOU for continuing to be a Druid* asshole, >you help the cause of truth immeasurably. > > > > >* Bush Worshipper You are true simpleton. Posting links to irrefutable acts of human rights abuses makes you a "Druid"? You don't need to be a Bush supporter (I am most certainly not) to be concerned with the subhuman savagery in Iran. If anything, being concerned with human rights in Iran is a very liberal issue (at least it damn well should be).
