support besides mov. Cause it sounds like that is what you will need

The copy the single file onto the IPOD and play it. Can be done but
time consuming, you have to rip to remove protection, then re-encode
into a single file using software that supports VOB files which will
take even a fast PC hours.
Actually, I'm doing this right now. Before, I was ripping straight from
the DVD with AnyDVD removing the protection. That resulted in the file
either dropping the audio at a certain point in the movie (mp4 or h.264)
or the rip just crashing (DVIX(AVI). So now I'm ripping first to HD and
then well do the transcription (it's not that time consuming).
When attempting this I have found it easier just to play the DVD back
and capture it with a capture device that isn't affected by
protection. Either way one movie is a big effort.
I guess I can do this too even though my all my setup players are in use
with HT, making it hard to get to AV outputs. I guess I could use my
laptop with Svideo output and use the mic output split to L/R channels.
Hmm....I think the above process will be faster, if it works, that is.
Probably makes more sense just to buy one of those small DVD players.
They can't be very heavy.
