I currently have a 3000+ Athlon. I don't remember what core, but it only supports 1 gig of ram. I can't get it to work with 2.
Anyway, I'm looking for a CPU upgrade. I want to keep everything else the same, except I want to add the second gig of ram I have sitting around. What's my best bang for the buck here? I don't really play games. Mostly DVD/video encoding, Mp3s, internet, etc. It has to be 64 bit, and it has to support 2 gigs of ram. What's my best option? X2? Opteron? Thanks, Chris
