For the record, I recorded the shows with the Hauppauge 150. It creates MPEG-2, I believe.
I have a Hauppauge USB2 on one of my computers, and your right, it creates bigger files then my ATI All in Wonder. You can tweak Hauppauge record settings to make smaller files.
I used Nero to edit out the commercials and was left with the lengths that I posted below.
