What settings do you use/recommend?
Thanks,
Bobby
I use my Hauppauge for my day to day TV watching, and every day I record CSPAN Washington Journal = 3hours, Hardball, and Charlie Rose. That is five hours a day. These I things I watch and delete at the end of the week. So I am set up to record in mpeg = VCD settings, which is under 650 megs an hour, and is fine for this purpose.
Any thing I want to make a DVD from I will use my All in Wonder 800XT recording from my Cox Digital cable box at standard DVD settings with video soap medium.
There is nothing wrong with the Hauppauge, it sure is a LOT more reliable then ATI, but I do , at least think I do, notice a little better quality with the ATI. And the ATI will do mpeg-4, which the Hauppauge doesn't do... or at least mine doesn't do. I have never had a problem or issue with my Hauppauge but I have constant issues with my ATI.
Just try different things until you find the right setup for your needs. There are lots of choices in the menu. Or record like you are doing, and then re-encode to get what you want.
