I just dumped one for that reason. Not 1.5 years old. Heads so clogged no amount of "cleaning" could bring it back. I didn't print much, especially in the last few months. Left it on all the time.
I can't complain, I bought it Sept 2005 for 50 bucks.... it sat in the box until January, and it has been great to date. I am still using the same ink, I have about half yet. I have learned my lesson about the ink though. As soon as it shows any drying I will replace them all.
I would be sure to print something every week.
they say once a month... but you're probably right. There must be some way to manually clean the heads.
Wish I had bought the next model up, as it's ink usage is much less.
