Hayes, if you're really sold on Asus, they are one of only two companies
(the other ECS) shipping a chipset specifically designed for Core2 right now
(Nvidia 570)  P5NSLI.  It's a nice board, and it's finally shipping in
decent quantity.  It's not the 590 (which keeps getting delayed) and it's
-very- new to the market, but it's easy to work with and the performance is
VERY good.
