trying to help a neighbor clean up a PC for the GF to use for EMT school.
PC is a dell Dimension 4100 w/intel 1GHz p3, 128MB ram and Windows ME.

I've got it connected to my kvm but not my lan until I get it somewhat
de-loused.
So far P-cillin and AVG have found lots of trojans! Duh ... :)

About AVG, is there some special process to get AVG to read the update file
from
a local directory? The file is U7F394AX.BIN (6855KB). I can get AVG to point
at a
directory, but not read/use the file. Hmm ... :(

Yes, could try to hook the machine's modem to the phone line, but really do not
want
to run it thru my isp (with my acct info) until it is a bit cleaner.

Lastly, I am getting many hits on files in a directory of c:\_RESTORE. The
files are all
in a format of "A0078nnn.CPY", yet when I go look into the c:\_RESTORE
directory,
the only files I see are:

diskcfg.dat 1KB
srdiskid.dat 1KB
VxDMon.cfg 1KB
VxDmon.dat 61KB

I'm thinking about just deleting to whole c:\_RESTORE directory ... :)

Ideas?
Thanks,
Duncan
