Again, I'm not saying PCP&C makes a sub-par unit. I'm simply saying that if you really need that level of peace-of-mind, you need to spend the money on real server grade gear. PCP&C, as good as it may be, is still only a workstation class product...and as such, falls short of real server grade supplies. Greg
this thread was about desktop workstation products, but as you wrote, PCP&C do make first class "server grade" products, and I am guessing that the price differentiation is going to be similar. The power supplies I own are Xeon power supplies, and that is mission critical, or server grade.
However, would feel the same way about purchasing any of their products, we would be talking hundreds of dollars difference, not thousands, and the price difference is worth the peace of mind to me.
I am sure your recommendation is an excellent product, but I am guessing that few people on the lists have heard of it, and I am also guessing that it does not have 20 years of unquestioned performance, and reliability history.
