Hi All,
I have to upgrade two XP SP2 pc's here at work to hardware IDE raid
controllers. I am sure this will make Windows unhappy when it goes
to boot. Does anybody know a good way of adding this hardware and
keeping Windows happy, preferably without requiring a reload of the
OS (upgrade install or otherwise.)
I did this with an Adaptec IDE RAID controller sometime back with no
problem. I put the controller in while leaving the system running on
it's current IDE controller and installed the drivers for the new
controller. Then I moved the drive over to the new controller, added
the second drive and did the mirroring in the controller BIOS. It
worked fine after that.
