The Core 2 CPU’s are great (and this is coming from a die hard AMD supporter).
Without going into too much technical detail, the Core 2’s offer more performance than the AMD’s and also they are more power efficient. If I was to buy a new mobo/cpu right now, I would 99.9% go for a core 2.
