Same router I had before - Netgear WGR614 v3 - running fine with 3 Windows XP machines connecting, 2 wired and 2 wireless. Replaced the two wireless machines with a new Macbook. Connects and gets an IP just fine, but with 20 minutes (sometimes 5) the router locks up hard.
Activity lights continue to flash but router config page (192.168.0.1) is inaccessible and none of the machines can access the net. Only solution is to do a hard reset of the router which makes it fine for another short while. Googling turns up a whole bunch of people with similar problems with various models of routers but no answers other than the obvious update your firmware: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50591 http://forums.macnn.com/92/networking/325172/d-link-wbr-1310-router-constantly/ http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1286336&page=1 http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-239977.html Anyone else experiencing something similar? I consider myself to be fairly knowledgeable about networking and can't figure out what the heck could be going on. I am considering pulling out Ethereal to do a packet analysis to see what is going on. Thoughts? -- Brian
