Damn it........ Installed the latest Vista nVidia driver day before yesterday, and now my GPU fan runs full speed all the time even on the desktop, not just in graphics or games like it's supposed to do.
Before the new driver, it ran slowly or not at all when on the desktop, which is good. Called nVidia, they are no help, they escalated to Second level support, but nothing has happened so far. If I boot into Linux or WinPE, the fan stays slow, so it's whatever the damn latest driver put on my PC that did the dirty deed.. Even re-installing the older driver did not work, it's leaving something newer somewhere. System Restore did not work either, again, that can change the registry settings, but not return to an older version of some driver left around some where on the system... nVidia and Guru3D forums said to try Rivatuner, but that does not work with Vista, and nTune did not work either, as neither show a "fan" tab in Vista like they do with XP. Curses..... I think I might want to rebuild just because of this, and I wonder if I should go dual boot with XP this time ?? Whaddya think? Dual boot, or just re-install Vista? :) -- JRS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Please remove **X** to reply... ...Cleverly Disguised As A Responsible Adult...
