try installing them manually ... Tell installer you have a "New Device" and then point them to the driver. If that doesn't work then remove the card. ... boot up. Shut down. ... put the card in another slot.

I have a Windows 2000 machine that won't install new hardware - I was trying to install a NetGear SC-101, and the Z-San drivers wouldn't install, and at that point I noticed that there were some Intel 850 SMBus drivers what weren't installed, so I downloaded the chipset driver and tried to install them, and they won't install either - in each case the Add New Hardware Wizard tells me the "cannot find the file specified." I'm thinking something is wonky with the install, and would rather fix than reinstall - anyone have any suggestions?
