Thanks jmaccraw, Thane.
OK, I tried and got no connection.
This routers' default connection is via my browser to
'http://192.168.0.1'. This seems fairly standard and default.
I have tried with and without the trailing "/" delimiter.
My pc's ip addy is 10.0.0.3. Do I need to re-address my pc to the
router's ip series? (until I can manage/admin the router to my ip series)?
I have now done:
Take the router off my LAN switch. no connection.
Take the pc off the switch and connect directly to the router's swicth port.
.....again, no connection.
Reset the router. no connection.
Reset my browser default home page to 'http://192.168.0.1'. no connection.
I suppose I can:
Reset my pc to 'get an ip addy automagically" and let it get an addy from the
router (assuming the router's DHCP server is active-per jmaccraw!)
Or, I can hard re-assign a 192.168 series ip addy to the pc.......
but I am having a SM (senior moment) and can not find my IAM cheat doc.
What is the default subnet mask for the 192 series ip addy series?
This is actually fun! I like when I manually break something!
Best,
Duncan

In other words, turn off the routers DHCP server until
you need it.
Otherwise, no damage in having it installed & powered
up.
