Brian, Probably about 7, and most of them were my stereo! LOL! You could be so correct. No Faraday cage planned. I'll just move it and see what happens. I sense a tired klystron, but can not prove yet. Heck, I've been wanting to re-arrange the kitchen for awhile anyway... :) I lost all my really neat (radar) test equipment when I rotated out in 1970!
Yes, this MWO has both sensor reheat and weight-based defrost. Use both almost daily. Any next must have or no buy. Best, Duncan At 16:39 11/30/2007 -0500, you wrote:
Yeah but how many electrical devices, networks, and computers did you have in the house 20 years ago? It might be that it is dumping noise in the house's electrical system but I think short of hooking up an oscilloscope it would be hard to detect. It might also be just inducing a current in the phone wiring. If you move the MW away from the phone line and the problem goes away I would tend to think that's the problem. Your options would be to: 1) move either the phone or the MW 2) build a Faraday cage around your MW 3) buy a new MW with better shielding (if they exist at the consumer level) If you do buy a new one get one with a reheat sensor. Our new one has the feature it rocks. Just stick something in, hit the button and it will stop when it is hot all the way through. It does make things HOT tho so if you like your stuff warm it might not be the thing for you. It also does defrosting based on the weight of the item you put in which rocks too.
