Some years ago I bought a couple of these and they are great. Except now it's not playing newer codecs and I can't find any firmware updates that increase codec support. Some updates were released a couple years back but added macrovision 'support' or something. Either way - they are still 2 years old. Some of the movie I get are playing fine on the PC with GOM Player but play poorly (no audio but ok video) or it gets out of Sync, etc. I know the difference between bad encoding, DL glitches, etc - this is a codec thing. These same movies will not play on my older systems, for example.
So, is anyone aware of firmware for this unit? Are you guys using a better player with better codec support? -- Regards, joeuser - Still looking for the 'any' key...
