This is a pretty scary article about one guy's experiences with trying to watch purchased movies from Amazon Unbox and Netflix on his new HD monitor:
http://davisfreeberg.com/2008/01/03/bad-copp-no-netflix/ Some details are missing, like whether this is a Vista-only issue or could happen with XP. I do know that one of the reasons Vista was delayed and is so unstable is that Microsoft had to do a last minute re-write of the entire audio/video subsystem so that Hollywood would allow for HD content playback. Yet another reason why I am avoiding it for as long as I can. The movie industry is not doing themselves any favors when they make it impossible for a consumer to watch content they purchased. I don't mean to condone piracy but if its free AND easier then what incentives do people have to actually play by the rules? -- Brian Weeden
