It's been a while since I played with SCSI. Moreso in the age where SAS and SATA is the buzzword, it was odd that I landed myself with 3 units of 300GB 10k.7 Cheetah hardrives. Thought I plunge into the world of SCSI again and give it a try. Here are my questions;
1. What's a good RAID card that does 0, 1, 5? Preferably dual channel since I also got an external Ultrium tape drive and has drivers for XP . 2. Should I go U320 RAID cards since the drives are U320 or U160 RAID cards since they are much cheaper to get? 3. Most good cards are in PCI-X flavour. Would I see a performance dump if I set RAID 0 with those 3 drives if I put the PCI-X card in a normal PCI 2.2slot? I believe the PCI slot in my mobo (P5K-E running Q6600 at 3.6GHz) is capable of 533MB/s. Appreciated if I can get any thoughts and feedback. Thanks. Jason
