Only because it is interpretive in nature vs. simply
copying the partition as a
container. You could miss something with the wrong
switch or run into an OS
limitation while copying which I've seen when copying
many small files under windows,
there's no easy way to verify the backup is complete.
Point is that imaging software is out there and in
some cases free, can restore
individual files if need be, why not use it?
Glad to hear the xcopy comandline I sent worked, now
question is how do you verify
it's an exact copy of everything on the source drive?
