However, I do not use your level of hardware. I was wondering about what is
a general rule for how much ram to allow FF to use. Suspect I was looking
for some percentage figure. Understand this may be "use" bound. Let's try
general browsing, viewing UToob shares, listening to web radio streams,
downloading various updates. Does that help?

is much better than FF2. I've got probably 25 extensions running with
multiple tabs and use it for my job easily 10-12 hours a day and my memory
footprint seems to top out around 300 MB no matter how long I let it go or
how many pages I blow through. Not tiny, but on a machine with 4 GB of RAM
it's perfectly fine.
