Bizarrely enough, that SFF I was detailing earlier in the week, which
runs vista x64 and has a realtek 10/100/1000 controller...
...will pull data from my Nforce4 based fileserver at 85MB/s ! fastest
I've ever ever ever seen out of it, the fileserver or my Buffalo 8
port GigE switch (which must be 5 years old now) jumbo frames aren't
even supported by the switch!
I was flabbergasted!

You're right.
I checked the jumbo frames option and I seem to be topping out at
around
35MBps.
I was hoping more :(
Although that's a 4X improvement over 10/100 I still want
more!!!!!! :)

Could the windows TCP/IP Stack be culprit?
probably, they supposedly made it better in Vista but I haven't
noticed it
on my one Vista box. You are going to notice things are a faster in
general,
but nothing like you were expecting. Also if you detect a
difference in
Jumbo frames I will be surprised.
