FORC5,
Yes, I suppose I could get a m/b for that, but it would not be an Asus m/b! And, since 2000, I have had perfect service from my 4 Asus A7N8X series m/b's (and an even older CUBX m/b!). Yes, they are all long-of-tooth. When they fail, I will replace them with current choices of an Intel variety. AMD does not show me anything I wish to use in the future. Besides, all talk on the List, and, reviews I read ATM seem to be biased to WinTel solutions, or, Apple. Not ready to try Apple, but I am not so sour on Apple any more. Just looking for good SATA card to future-proof (play) an old ABIT m/b. If for no other reason than it still works fine. I just can not Vulcan Funeral a perfectly working m/b. And, since the two computer donation businesses here have gone away, my other option is now gone................. :)
Best,
Duncan
