The point behind W7's XPM is for Line of Business (LOB) apps at organizations that are entrenched and were an impediment to migrating to Vista. 3D acceleration was never a goal, nor was hardware compatibility.
For that, it should work wonderfully. I do find it entertaining that Intel has been forced to go back and add VT to a bunch of their lower-end chip lines (like the Pentium Dual-Core), since those are fairly popular in your run-of-the-mill business PC. I always hated that they used VT as a product differentiator.
