LOL, that's good, never noticed that. I wonder what's happening to
charities these days then....
Of course, the only final recourse is to do a fresh install and see if
that solves the problem, then see what app can cause the problem. I
have a hunch that Internet Download Manager (which I think works great
for downloading)has a problem. I do have one more problem with
explorer, or rather the recycle bin, where every once in a while I get a
fatal exception trying to empty it. Of course it takes all the explorer
windows with it, but I noticed that the tray icon for IDM disappears
also. And I can almost swear that I did not have these problems before
IDM. Whatever.

it randomly changes a settings every couple weeks. That, and Bill Gates has
a big random bluescreen button on his desk that causes a random Windows
machine to BSOD somewhere in the world.
If you noticed, since he left the CEO spot the rate of BSODs has dropped
dramatically :)

That Tweakui problem is weird - I used it to do the same thing for

you enable autologon a different way, by going through the advanced
user
accounts settings and turning off "users must enter a login/password".
That
might be the ultimate setting that TweakUI is accessing, although I'm
not
sure.

Third, I have Tweak UI installed and if I set it for one account to
boot
up, it will do that on the next boot, but thereafter, back to the .net
choose your account screen. I go back to Tweak UI and the box has
been
unchecked. How do I get it to stray?
This is plain vanilla XP, fully patched, no tweaks of services or
anything
else.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
