A couple of things to check:All inbound traffic is turned off. Some firewalls still allow ICMP through and such. Disable the remote admin. Most of the time this is the default, but not always. Keep up on the firmware patches.
Instead of adding another firewall, add a box running Snort with Oinkmaster and span a port off of one of your switches so that a copy of all traffic gets passed to that box. This will help you know if anyone is around and possibly how they got through!
