Right off the top of my head, can't think of any of my normally used
software that wouldn't run on Vista. Now Windows 7 RC2 is a different
story and the reason I went back to Vista SP2. I am however using
Windows 7 RTM (for 2 days now with Catalyst 9.9) and have a lot to
reinstall yet but so far it's looking good.

However, when you upgrade to Vista or to a lesser degree Windows 7,
4 Gigs of RAM is minimum at the price there just isn't a compelling
reason not to go 64 bit. Why not embrace the future, we all know
that software of the future is going to need more RAM.

Even consumer-level computers coming with 4GB RAM, there's no choice

and a
updated OS with more ease-of-use features goes a long way in that
respect.
