Don't know if there are dvi-hdmi that don't work to widescreen but since I buy all my cables from monoprice, haven't had any issues with the dvi-hdmi cable I have now. Used it in:
1. PC (DVI) to A/V Receiver (HDMI) to TV (HDMI) 2.
