For hardware, I have both a full server with a 780G chipset and Win 7 and a stand-alone Acer Aspire Revo. Both are running XBMC and I absolutely love it. So does my wife.
The one requirement u have that I do not is DVR replacement. That could be quite tricky depending on what your content sources are. If you are a satellite TV customer like me you are basically SOL. OTA is the safest bet, with cable TV it really depends on the company and how amenable your setup is to CableCard. --------------------------- Brian Weeden Technical Advisor Secure World Foundation <http://www.secureworldfoundation.org> +1 (514) 466-2756 Canada +1 (202) 683-8534 US On Thu, Mar 25, 2010 at 1:51 PM, Mesdaq, Ali <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey Everyone, > > I am looking into putting together a HTPC system together and I am at the > stage of planning it out.
