Yeah, I forget how much time I waste in crazy little projects here! I've not bricked 4 of 4 routers since the WRT's hit the scene but looks like a JTAG is a must for early adopters just-in-case.

Do follow up when you get a feel for the strengths/weaknesses of the bridge, that's what we're here for eh? ;)

tried, not able to. Actually got it to ping but was unable to re flash.

Afraid to turn the Asus into a brick, is supported by DD-wrt but is a very good
router ( more or less ) so decided to leave it alone for now.

new one was only $48 ( Netgear

messing with or taking the chance. A lot on the old plate right now.

So unbrick the linksys! :p

Don't see why you do not simply put DD-Wrt on the Asus? There's more than enough
RAM& ROM 32/8 to run the full feature generic.

Bought a new gb router for main system and planned on moving my asus wl-500w to
bridge duty, has a setting for this but I can not seem to make it work. Barring
after market FW any suggestion on a inexpensive ( or expensive) bridge. Bricked
my Linksys ( worked good until brick status)

thanks
