I'd look at the i7-930. The 260MHz added by the 950 isn't worth more than double the price. Microcenter has the 930 for $199 if you have one handy.
I just upgraded my system with the Gigabyte X58A-UD5. The UD3R would also be a good choice. I wanted a few of the extras on the UD5: onboard debug LEDs and 12+2+2 phase voltage regulation. Neither of these may matter if you aren't looking to overclock. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:hardware- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of GPL > Sent: Tuesday, April 20, 2010 7:53 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [H] My 2010 Gamer PC Build > > With a case (922 HAF), and power supply (850HX) now in the shopping > cart it's time for me to get down to the fun stuff. > > Next I'll work on selecting the CPU, MB, and Video Card. > > VIDEO CARD: I already know I want an ATI Radeon HD 5870.
