Well, first I would use a command prompt to change the attributes and then try to delete it from there. If that doesn't work and it is 32 bit I would use the freeware unlocker 1.8 http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ ... if it is 64 bit try Lockhunter 1.0 Beta 3 http://lockhunter.com/?ver=&vertype=pro&sm=main_window_64

Here's an odd one. I have a hosts file that I can't delete (it's clearly malicious since I can look at it) but it's SHR and attrib won't touch it. So I boot in BartPE and attrib gives the same problem. Now I've never seen a file that I couldn't take control of in BartPE. I was able to rename the ETC folder which took it out of play, but I'm still wondering about it - anyone have any ideas?
