can not find anything at the manufacturer's site. turns out two partitions, one 
usable one locked but can be copied from. 
used fdisk on it from a boot floppy, at first looked good but it failed on 
write. diskpart did the same thing from the console.

pretty much spent more time on it then worth but I am stubborn ( and retired 0 
:{) plus would like to show up those students 8-)
