I think the differences are the shielding of the wires and all so they can
take the higher frequencies.

Up to now I have only made up CAT5 and 5e cables. I have the tools 
necessary to do this. I want to replace and end of a factory made 
CAT6 cable with a new connector because the existing one lost it's 
clip. After looking into this it appears that CAT 5e and CAT6 are 
exactly the same for the purposes of assembly. Same connectors, same 
wiring scheme, so the difference must be within the wires 
themselves... am I correct? I just make up a CAT6 just like I did CAT5e?
