Anthony,
I completely accept your points. However, you are taking my thread
tangentially away from what I asked. I choose not to argue/discuss
"modular psus." Should I choose this I have already gone back and
re-read our past shares/threads. I knew Greg stepped in it as soon as
his share. Please put the swords away! Not necessary ATM.
Should I choose to go modular, I join a live, vibrant crew on this List.
Nothing more. I completely accept Greg's share. I live in his camp
totally ATM. No harm, no foul.
I was polling List opinion. Nothing more.
Best,
Duncan

How much extra resistance are you talking about here? What is the
likelihood of a failure due to these extra connections?
Also, throwing the cables in a cable draw doesn't create much of a
keeping track of problem. Using only cables you need ATM certainly helps
with case clutter and improved air flow. I see no downsides to modular.

I must be old school. All else being equal, I'd rather have a non-modular
unit. I'd prefer not to have the extra resistance, extra point for
failure,
and extra crap to keep track of, but that's me. I also tend to use
most of
my connections, and always end up needing Y's for drives.
That said, if my SeaSonic S12-600 died today, I'd be getting the X750
Gold
as a replacement, and it's modular only.

Modular is the way to go. With less cable clutter inside, it's always a
win-
win... :)

Are there List members that use Modular PSUs?
If so, opinions are welcome!
I understand "Modular" to mean a PSU that has selective electrical
connectors on the rear of the PSU (PC Output side) in place of the old
bundle
of wires and connectors.
I am shopping a pair of replacement PSUs. I may try Modular this cycle.
Best,
Duncan
