[H] Problem surfing with IE, not FF

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 machine.  It gets an IP address 
via DHCP, will ping fine, and will surf with Firefox, but in IE 8 or 
9 (32 or 64 bit) it will only surf by IP address, not by name (so 
173.194.38.191 works, but www.google.ca).

I've tried the following:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset winsockreset.log
netsh winhttp reset proxy
No change.  I've uninstalled the anti-virus, with no change.

Has anyone seen this before or have a suggestion?
