Chris,
I agree with the "...not particularly useful..." statement. It is most
totally focused on
wireless (wifi) operation which I have disabled.
I think I use it only for its nice 'network map' display. But, I
disappointed that I can not
fiind any description of the icons that Genie uses on its' map; so,
Genie remains
confusing to me. I will keep looking, and, may join the Netgear forum
and ask the
wizards (?) there.
So far, Genie is not playing well in WinXP. It has caused crashes twice
on two PCs.
One of the crashes is about 'Genie trying to shutdown." Another crash is
about some
disagreement with a MS distributed dll glop that I believed had been
replaced by the use
of MS 'dot-net.' Clearly I am clueless to try to fix either of these
things. Yes, I do now run at
MS 'dot-net' 4.0. So, my initial reaction is that Netgear's Genie sw has
some problems ATM.

Can anyone share opinions about Forums @Netgear.com?
I have some questions about their new sw called Genie, which came with my
new wnr3500L router. Nothing serious, just some new user confusion; like no
User Manual for Genie. Strange?
