You need a signal booster. The way they work is that you run a coaxial cable out to an antenna that is about 12 inches by one inch diameter that is located somewhere, in the attic, on the roof, outside ... where ever... a spot that does receive a strong single. Then they broadcast that signal in an area where there is no signal. Price will depend on the range of the broadcast circle. I live in a dead zone and use this one...works good. It is over your budget, I paid almost 300 for it in 2008 because it is for an office facility so it has a huge range and covers all cell phone band widths.

Hi,

I am wanting to increase the wireless signal in my house in an area where I
only get 1-2 bars of signal level on my phone. What do I need to do this?
Would I use an extender or an access point? I have a gigabit switch in the
location where I would like to put whatever it is needed to increase my
signal strength.

Suggestions on brands/models to look at would be appreciated. Would like to
keep costs less than $125 or so.

My current router is a Linksys E4200.

Thanks,

Bobby
