OK, I've followed shares and I've managed to instalWindows 8.1 64-bit. I believe.
The PC seems to say so, from what I can read.
Win8.1 is a completely new experience. I will deal with itin time. Thanks!

I installed using a version sent to me in the purple box (livery) the was labeled, "Windows 8.1 (full version)."
Fine.
Odd that it booted up and announced "Windows 8.0" to start. Odd. A forced reboot changed that to "Windows 8.1".
Fine, so far................But................:)

My install does not say it is "Win 8.1 pro" yet. Do I need to purchase yet another upgrade DVD?

Can doif necessary. I spent 4 hrs today trying to figure out how to reset the PC's current IP addy to what I choose it to be, and, install my chosen DNS Server addy's. I think I got close, but, I failed. Damn! This new OS is very different. Way to many changed windows. Way to much new noise.
Fine. I will just learn it somehow.

BTW, the SSD got absorbed really quick and seems to be just cruising ATM. All future upgrades will
include an SSD. Yes, I have been absorbed.

Thanks Anthony!! It seems the M$ installed anew video driver (v335.23) for my GT630. I stopped at protocol #2; and not sure I've really completed this........ Perhaps tomorrow.
Thank you,
Duncan
