Has to be model specific. Some Intel SSDs use their own controllers, some use 
Sandforce, some use others still. Unfortunately, they're not all equal.

I had one Intel 2500 Pro (same as 520 series) that went bad, a known issue with 
power saving causing massively amplified writes, but it gave me months of 
warning before it finally started having troubles, and months more where it 
would still run.
