I followed some instructions http://www.thinkcomputers.org/install-windows-7-from-a-usb-flash-drive/ on using a flash drive to install Windows instead of the old DVD disk and it worked like a charm on my old, very slow Sandisk 4 gig. I set the BIOS to USB Hardrive and 5 minutes later 1st reboot. I pulled the thumb drive, answered name time zone yada yada questions and Win7 finished 13 minutes to first desktop. Installed video, LAN and sound drivers copied my 22 gig /steamapps folder into proper place and had a fully functional PC in ~ 45 minutes. It's interesting to me that I only needed the Sandisk for 5 minutes and then it was done copying files to the hardrive. I probably didn't save much time by comparison but it was still an interesting way to do it and a first for me. My 4th hardrive is due tomorrow and after that I'll get serious about setting up my game box the way I want it. For awhile anyway. lol Anybody else done this yet?
