Soren,
LOL! The mouse has no battery! I don't use radio-mice.
Hmm..... What are you thinking?

I have been trying to find an intermittent problem for the past 8 mo.
or so.
The PC(2) responds to the Reset Button or an OS Restart command, but,
sometimes it boots back up with no mouse (ms ps/2 optical), or, no
mouse and KBD. I have to repeat 2 or more reboots to get the mouse to
"light up."
3 similar mice and 3 in-service KBD's swapped thru have not affected
this behavior.
The mouse, KBD, and Dell FP connect to the PC via an
Avocent/SwitchView 2-port KVM switch. I suspect that this KVM switch
is dying on Port2. I suspect this because I just had to replace the
PC2's HD and rebuild the XP OS from scratch. I can not believe that
even the old MS Mouse and KBD drivers are bad from the git-go. Yes,
I still see this odd behavior with a new build!
I could suspect a possible early death of the PC's m/b (mouse/KBD
circuitry), but this m/b has been stone solid since its' birth. I
suppose I should eliminate this by swapping the cables for PC1 and
PC2 at the KVM switch.
Am I on the right track?
