If I boot to a w7 repair disk ( or a w7 install disk) will it allow me to format a SSD drive for proper alignment ? I have a w7 on my server but do not mess with it much, I do not see a repair console like in XP but when I boot to a repair disk I do have the option to format but not sure what command line options to use.
Want to do this because ( for now) going to clone my xp install on it. I have wd align from acronis but unclear if it will run on a non WD drive. Rumor has it the Acronis True image and acronis migrate easy do not align ssd's properly on cloning. Supposedly a fix is in the works. Thanks just trying to do my homework. putting w7 on this system not a option at this time.
