How far back does System Restore go? Is there an old enough set point that
removes the changes? Also, it sounds like the work of a little program
called Ultimate Windows Tweaker.

Tried that, but some things don't seem to go back to normal. It's like
someone heavily edited the registry. And what they put in was this
horrendous black and green scheme. Startup and shutdown screens are
changed also. Plus, the horrible green/black background was apparently
written over the standard Win7 background. Ugh!

Why don't you just log in as another user and everything should start
up as a brand new Windows 7 screen.

I'm looking at this system for a friend of mine which has Win7 on it,
but someone has heavily modified it. Start-up screen, theme, fonts,
standard icons, the whole lot. Since my friend 'can't find' all the
of the programs to reinstall, I'd like to try and get this install
back to original or close. Is there an easy way to get all this stuff
back to default? I can go in by hand and change a lot of this stuff,
but it'll be very time consuming.
Thanks...Steve
