I think intel has continued to screw up its market. Decent performers, but again, they don't properly support 24p framerates, and so far, reports say DXVA goes bonkers on it no matter the decoder, though that should get fixed.
The new core i3 processors bench out and are fairly forgettable, I don't know why you'd ever do that. The higher end is ok, but also not where I thought they'd be. Its also a whole new board, new socket (1155) which is incompatible with the current (1156). I get the need to change things, but the h55 is less then a year old, and already heads to the bin. Amd is likely to change sockets this year also, but I have to commend them as am2+/am3 is now about 3 years in the marketplace and support hasn't changed. But intel seems to be going through sockets like water. Intel finally succeeded in getting it's wet dream come true by making it impossible to overclock the lower margin "cheap" chips thereby giving it's customers less bang for the buck. The 2600K is out of the running for most because of price leaving only the 2500K at $210 worth buying for a gaming and hardware enthusiast. Then you have to buy the Intel chipset mobo because Intel loves it's customers so much they never allow backwards compatibility (one pin difference between LGA 1156 and LGA 1155 for the new socket) because it's just not profitable. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when I upgrade to AMD's new architecture this year and we all owe Intel a vote of thanks for being so anal they will chase much of their business AMD's way.
