I know what you're talking about. When I bought my HDTV a couple of
years ago, I bought a cable at Best Buy and was appalled at the cost of
the cables. Of course they had Monster and Monster wannabe cables.
Because I didn't want to wait, I paid $33.00 for a 6 foot HDMI cable.
And that was the cheapest one, the Best Buy house brand.
