Oh! 2 trays play the same? Both new and old?
I'd be looking at the interface IN THE PRINTER where both these
trays slide in. There has to be ?something? in/on the printer chassis
that releases 'the clip' and enables proper paper feed. You may wish
to do this check on a flat glass plate (like a display case).

I never got into these PC-related printers. Way too small.
I have two trays (the old one and a new one.) Both appear to be
identical, and both don't work. So I think it's got to be something
with the printer itself, but I can't figure it out.
